On June 17th 2017, I travelled up to Castleford to compete in the English Slopestyle Championships. It’s always such a fun competition to go to as I not only get to see my English friends but also my Scottish. The park was challenging and had an interesting layout but I eventually got down a run I was happy with. I got through to the finals with my safety run and then went for it with my best run. I had been struggling with the larger of the two jumps all day but got a nice floaty 360 off of it as well as a 3 out for the kink rail a back board on the stair set and a 180 on backside 180 off. I was so happy when I got to the bottom still standing and shouted with joy. Then there was, as always, the long dreaded wait for the presentation. As they went through all the category’s I was so stoked to get first in the under 21’s category and then over the moon to have won overall women’s title, for a second year in a row!
